Q & A with Amy

When do you feel most powerful?

I’m a real people person, I love working with others and sharing my knowledge to help others succeed. I believe I feel most powerful when I share the same goal as someone, and we work as a team to succeed. I feel rewarded and powerful knowing I have contributed, it can be in the workplace or at home with my family.

Your greatest adventure?

My greatest adventure and experience was living abroad for 12 months. I was lucky enough to travel through Europe and experience a variety of cultures, and seeing some of the most beautiful sites you can ever imagine.

What’s your beauty routine?

Moisturise! It’s the first thing I do when I jump out of the shower. I always start my makeup with my brows - unfortunately I over plucked them when I was younger so I am growing them back. .I also love dark, smokey eyes, I use concealer to prime before adding eyeshade - I use our Eyeshadow Palettes wet to intensify the pigments. And I always line my tight and waterline with our Smokey Black Eyeliner Pencil, then add our Black Liquid Define Eyeliner. Last but not least, I do my mascara, my new favourite trick is to first coat my lashes with our Bio Lash Lift Mascara for great lengthening and volume, then I do a coat with our Black Goddess Mascara for it’s great long-lasting water-resistance, then I know I can go for a swim without worrying. My eyes are my focal point of my beauty routine, my partner knows not to interrupt me when I’m doing this. After my eyes and brows are done I simply use a tinted moisturiser, a little blush and illuminator and finish with a touch of lippy.

Tell us your favourite makeup look/product?

That is a hard question! My favourite product changes all the time, but at the moment it would have to be our Black Liquid Define Eyeliner and also the combo of our Bio Lash Lift Mascara followed by a coat of our Goddess Mascara - a great tip for active women who are in and out of the water or gym and want the amazing lift of the Bio and the all day wear of the Goddess.

What’s your role at Eye of Horus?

I am one of the owners of Eye of Horus Cosmetics, and have been from the start, I have helped build the brand from scratch. My role is in Sales, I work very closely with the sales team to ensure all of our consumers and markets are being looked after and we strive to build the brand both domestically and internationally.

What project did you choose for this month and why?

I chose the Project 'Feed a Child with Disabilities a Nutritious Meal" this month because I really would do anything for kids, I am lucky enough to have 4 beautiful stepsons, my girlfriends often call me the “King of Kids”. Looking after and nurturing kids is so important, especially while they are young and developing, for their health and vitality. Every child should have to opportunity to have a healthy upbringing.
