Insider Travel Series - Su goes to Paris

Introducing our Insider Travel Series: your very own feature interviews on global destinations, with juicy insider travel tips, inspiration and much more!
First up - Paris the city of fashion, freedom, beauty, and love. Our own goddess Su recently travelled there with her family to explore its historic charm, diverse cultural scene and of course those stunning shimmery golden lights.
Read on for her highlights and travel tips for this iconic city of love.
What originally inspired you to travel to Paris?
Is it too cheesy if I say ‘midnight in Paris’? The majestic architecture, diverse art and fashion scene, not to mention the rich history of the city of lights and love.
How long did you stay and what did you experience?
I booked a very authentic, Parisian apartment with my family for a week. We really wanted to dive into the Parisian lifestyle and have enough time to wander around Bastille, indulge in the finest coffee, croissants and crepes and visit some of my favourite museums, in particular, the Louvre and Palais de Tokyo. Plus, it wouldn’t be a trip to Paris without watching the breathtaking Eiffel Tower light show.
What was your highlight of the trip?
Paris by night. Every evening, the Eiffel Tower is adorned with shimmering, golden lights which illuminate the night sky for 5 minutes, every hour on the hour. The lights show is a must-see for anyone visiting Paris.
Any hot travel tips? Places to go, best ways to travel, food to try?
Best way to travel: I think Edmund White summed it up nicely when he said:
‘Paris is a world meant for the walker alone, for only the pace of strolling can take in all the rich (if muted) detail.’
Hot tip: Book your tickets for the Louvre Museum online and skip the (enormous) queue.
Food to try: Treat yourself to a chocolate croissant for breakfast. Any boulangerie or patisserie in Paris will have a ‘pain au chocolat’. Try to get there first thing in the morning to get one fresh out of the oven.
I also highly recommend booking a table at Le Relais De Venise for dinner.
What was your favourite Eye of Horus product to travel with on this trip and why?
Summer Solstice Shadow Palette. This palette is so versatile, perfect for travelling. Not only do the shades look amazing on eyes, but I use Milky Way as a highlighter and Burst as bronzer.

The air in Paris is quite dry, the Bio Lip Elixir gave my lips extra hydration. I also applied it to my skin for additional plumping effect around my eyes. Our beloved  Bio Lip Elixir has been on everyone’s lips and is currently sold out due to popular demand. Click below to be the first to know when our best-selling Bio Lip Elixir is back in stock.
