FEELIN' FELINE

~ THE CAT EYE ~

The ancient Egyptians were the first to apply black and coloured khol to their eyes for protection. This ancient tradition has transformed over thousands of years to a range of different ways to wear eyeliner.

Today one of, if not the most popular way to wear liner is the famous cat eye. Whether your a pro or not at doing the cat eye there are some great tips one should know for this technique!

Tip 1. Stop the shakes

Getting a shaky hand totally happens when doing the cat eye. So we have some steps to help this big time!

1) Sit down.
2) Plant your elbow on a flat surface.
3) Rest your pinky on your cheek. Stabilizing yourself as much as possible = fewer mess-ups.

Tip 2. Connect the dots

If you are a beginner sometimes it can help to start with dots or dashes along your lash line and then slowly connect them.

Tip 3. Wing it

To create your eyeliner wing, draw a line starting from the last lash outwards. You can then decide the length & angle to your eye liner.

~ THE REVERSE CAT EYE ~
Recently there has been a new trend of the reverse cat eye which has been surprisingly very popular within the fashion industry on catwalks and the like. We personally prefer the traditional cat eye however this new trend does resemble more of an ancient Egyptian style of liner... perhaps we are returning to the ancient style!
